Principal's Message

Adam Long

Hi! My name is Adam Long and I am the Principal at Tri-Central Middle/High School.  Welcome to our school’s website.  Tri-Central MS/HS is a 1A school district consisting of a 6-8 Middle and a 9-12 High School building.  TCMHS is a top-ranked school corporation earning #13 in the State of Indiana by US News and World Report.  It has also earned recognition by the State of Indiana for having 29% of graduates passing an Advance Placement (AP) exam in 2014.

This year TCMS is offering STEM classes to all 6-8th grade students.  Students will be working with VEX Robotics, Electronic Circuits, Trebuchets, Hovercrafts, 3-D Printing, and research on Solar Panels.  This will coincide with the installation of a 5 acre district Solar Field which will be installed this fall across the street from the High School.  Tri-Central MHS plans to pursue STEM certification once the program is expanded K-12.

The Middle/High School is also working towards the Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate.  This program partners with local businesses to provide incentives for students to master and exhibit soft-skills throughout their time in high school.  As a graduating Senior, students can earn a Work Ethic Certificate in addition to their diploma.  This Certificate identifies a student as going above and beyond normal requirements for graduation and exhibiting the attributes employers are looking for in new hires.  In order to earn the certificate, students are evaluated on their ability to exhibit the attributes of PRIDE.  Personal Best, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Enthusiasm.  This program requires students to maintain a 98% attendance rate, a 2.0 GPA, and a minimum of 6 hours of community service throughout their Senior year.

TCHS also offers Core 40, Academic Honors, and Technical Honors diplomas.  Students have various AP(Chemistry III, Environmental Science, Biology, Calculus, United States History, World History, 2-D Art, Student Drawing) , Dual Credit (Chemistry II, English 11, English 12), and also Vocational opportunities through the Kokomo and Hinds Career Centers and Ivy Tech Community College.  One of those programs Intro to Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing allows students the ability to apply to intern at FCA Chrysler in Tipton.

TCMHS also provides numerous extra-curricular opportunities for students.  There are various clubs, Cheer Block, Marching Band/Color Guard, Choir, School Musicals and Plays, and a variety of Athletic teams: Boys and Girls Soccer, Golf, Cross-Country, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Track and Field, Softball, and Baseball.  Something for any student to get involved with.

Tri-Central Middle/High School prides itself in being a Small School with Big Results!  #TogetherWECan!
